Lactic acid is an α hydroxyl carboxylic acid produced from pyruvate by the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). Lactate is one of the main components of Ringer′s lactate or lactated Ringer′s solution. It is a fermentation acid from milk or carbohydrates.
